December 19th

Today was an action packed morning with Cousin Mason.  Our first advent activity was to make Reindeer Food, for Christmas Eve.
A cup of oats, 2 Tablespoons of love (glitter) and 2 Tablespoons of magic (sprinkles) makes the delicious treat for the deer.
Our second activity was to make some Christmas canvases with our hands and feet.
The boys were super excited to exchange gifts with each other.
 Wahoo!
 "Just what I wanted!"
 Sterling had fun opening too!
Our third advent activity of the day to sponsor a child.  Before we did this activity we talked about the many blessings we have and how others do not have everything we do.  It's hard for the kids to even understand someone not having their basic needs met.  We are hoping that this sponsorship will open all of our eyes to the many blessing we have and how important it is to share and care for  others.  After some research and talking with friends, we decided to go with organization, Compassion International.
As a family we viewed several of the children's profiles.  We ended up choosing Théophile.  Today is his birthday!  He just turned 5.  Also he is from Burkina Faso, which is a country our church does some mission work in.  The discussions that we have already had are awesome!  I'm sure we will be blessed by this, as much as little Theo will be.
Then tonight Beckett opened the 19th book.  Our bible story, from our Christmas chain, was Daniel and the Lions Den.
