Lots of Fun Things

This week we are taking advantage of all the fun things there are to do in Portland. Beckett loved the play area at the mall, while his mom loved all the shopping at the mall. Peek-a-boo!

Beckett had a great time playing with the Couch kids this morning at the Hillsboro Indoor Play Park.

Portland Children's Museum

This afternoon we headed to the Portland Children's Museum, with Beckett's Nana.There was SO much to do and see. Beckett enjoyed the tool/plumbing room.
He was very curious about the fish, but got a little distracted when he saw himself in the mirror.

The grocery store room was a hit too! The shopping carts were the perfect size.

It was hilarious to watch him play in the produce section. He picked up a few apples and put them right in his shopping cart. Beckett knew exactly what to do! It must be since his dad is in the grocery business. :)

We had a great time!

Made it to Portland

Thursday evening we headed up to Portland. We were a little nervous about the weather, since there had been reports that it was going to snow. We made it to Eugene with no problems, but once we got a little north of there trouble started. It started snowing and it looked like we were in the middle of a blizzard. Then all of a sudden we got a flat! Poor Grant was out there lying in the snow changing the tire. Luckily a state trooper stopped and gave us a hand. Here are the boys looking for a new tire... Once we finally made it to Portland we had a chance to go and see Beckett's GREAT grandparents. Beckett got lots of hugs and kisses from Great Grandma Thelma.
He had lots of fun at Great Grandpa Frank and Grandma Naomi's house.

Here Beckett is having lunch with Grandma Naomi's dish she used as a little girl. He loved sitting at the table like a big boy and having a grilled cheese sandwich. It was his first and I am sure it will not be his last!

Sunday Dinner

Last night we went over to Grandpa and Grandma's house for dinner. Beckett loves playing over there, especially with their fun toys!
He even tried walking a little.

Bowling and Movie

Today we met up with a few families for bowling. Beckett and Millie weren't old enough to bowl, so they enjoyed watching eveyone else play! Beckett did try to join in on the fun!
After bowling we headed home for a movie and popcorn.

Everyone was so nice to share their popcorn with Beckett. You can tell he is use to being fed!

Then he figured out he could get more popcorn if he used his own hands!!

A Few New Things

Last Sunday Beckett took his first step at church. Of course I did not get it on camera! :( This week he has been taking a few steps, but then quickly plops down. Here is a clip on him walking...

Notice in the video that Beckett is finally learning how to shake his head "yes!" This is a big milestone because with every question we ask, he shakes his head "no!"

Pasta Night

Grant and I recently took a cooking class, where we learned to make pastas and sauces. Tonight we thought we would try out our new skills. Beckett was our helpful assistant.

Beckett has been putting to use his new cooking gear from his Grandpa Dan and Grandma Donna.

Then it was time to taste it...

Family Fun Outing- February

This month for our Family Fun Outing we headed down to Trees of Mystery, with our pals The Olson's. Dad, Beckett and Paul Beckett enjoyed riding in his new backpack.
The Redwoods were so beautiful!

There was a lot to take in, but Beckett did his best. :)

The kids' favorite part was the gondola ride to the top of the mountain.

Mommy Fit Club Hike

Beckett and I have been enjoying getting together with other moms and kids and doing fun activities together. Today the activity was a hike along the Oregon Coast Trail. Most of the kids walked,but Beckett was carried by his momma! Along the way we stopped and had a yummy picnic.

Beckett enjoyed that!

In the Kitchen

Chef Beckett was busy in the kitchen this evening making some very fancy cornbread, to go along with his momma's soup. He enjoyed the soup and cornbread VERY much. This is a picture of his new bib. It is great for catching the food that misses his mouth. PS Today was a big day for Beckett. He got his first kiss at the park!!

Eating with a Spoon

Tonight was the first night we let Beckett use a spoon to feed himself. I would not say that he figured it out, but I do think that he had a lot of fun playing with the spoon and food!

Afternoon at the Beach

After the birthday party, a few of us headed down to Harris Beach to enjoy the sunshine. Beckett is a definitely a coast baby! He loves to play in the sand and explore.
