Letter R

Last week we worked on the letter R.  Our verse of the week was...
Our devotion was R is for Resting.
The boys made sure to practice resting!
They worked on the number 18
and practiced writing the letter R.
 R is for Raising Animals
The boys received Sea Monkeys for their birthdays.
Also the received a Bug Playground.  This was HOURS of entertainment.  We feed the stink bug, Roley Poley and slug apples and grass.
Let the observing begin!  We learned that if the bugs had food in the playground all they would do was sit and eat.  We finally took the food out, so we could watch them play on the slide and stairs.  The boys also learned that the slug was nocturnal and would not start to play until the evening.
 R is for Reading
These two are always asking to go to the library.  They found the graphic novels section at the library and always want to get new books.
Sterling enjoys a good book these days too!
 R is for Riding Scooters,
 Riding Bikes
 and Riding in the Stroller
I took the boys to a local park to practice biking.  Our neighborhood is too steep for good bike riding.
 R is for Rainbow
One morning the boys made a rainbow out of Fruit Loops.
 R is for Railroad
R is for Riding Lions at the Zoo
We met some friends one morning at the zoo.
The kids were more interested in the construction than the animals.
 R is for Ring
 R is for River
On Saturday we took a hike down to the river.
Sterling was so content on Daddy's back.
The boys would have thrown sticks and rocks in the river all day, if we had let them.
 The Willamette River
 Piercey
 Beckett Boy
We had Beckett lead us back to the car.  He chose the steepest trail!  What a workout!
 Lunde Boys
 R is for Recipe
Beckett found a kid's cookbook that Mommy had as a child.  He asked if he could make one of the recipes all by himself.
Beckett made us all lunch!  Hidden Hot Dogs!  What a treat!
 R is for Red Robin
On Saturday night we went out for dinner.  Appropriate restaurant, don't you think?!?
R is for Real Men Work for their Money
The boys have been asking to earn money so they can buy a new toy that is at the store.  So today Daddy gave them a list of jobs, with how much they would be paid for each job done well.
The boys got right to work!  They picked up a whole yard debris bin of sticks,
 pulled lots
and lots of weeds, planted grass, swept the driveway and path and washed Daddy's car.
Thumbs up for jobs well done!
