On Sunday we celebrated Marshall's first birthday, with a construction party!
Since it was an early morning party, we served breakfast.
Daddy was caught "digging in" before the party started!
Each kid received a hard hat and apron, when they got there.
We had the Marshall's monthly pictures displayed.
Ready to Party! We were super excited that Daddy finished the deck in time for the party to be at our house.
Uncle Neal even brought us "real" construction signs for the yard.
There were lots of activities to keep the little ones busy.
Daddy and Papa
Grandma and the Birthday Boy
Our Big One Year Old!
One of the big hits at the party was painted styrofoam blocks that the kids hammered golf tees into.
This kept the kids busy for quite awhile,
but eventually led to the styrofoam being drilled into and sawed in half! What a mess!
Bean Bag Toss
Trucks and Sand...what more could a boy want?!?
Marshall was not too excited about being taken from the sand table for a family picture!
Oh My!
We put out marshmallows and toothpicks
and the kids (and some adults!) constructed towers.
We love when the Duvalls show up! Greg always has the best wrapped present!
Even the new twin cousins came!
Another activity was painting birdhouses.
Sterling was really into this project.
Mimi and the kids playing in the playhouse.
The playroom was FULL of kids and toys!
The Birthday Cake
Grandma made this cute cake, to go along with the yummy cupcakes that Nana made.
Marshall was not too sure about being put into the high chair
and being sung to.
But once he tasted the cake,
everything was better!
Much Better!
Visiting with Great Grandma Naomi
Snuggling with Auntie Tera
After the guest left and Marshall napped, he opened his gifts.
Big brothers were right there helping him!
A new suitcase!
What a special day! Thank you to ALL the family and friends that came and helped us celebrate our sweet baby boy! Well, I guess he is not a baby anymore...
