Easter 2016

This year we decided to do Easter a little differently.  In the years past, we have started the day with Easter baskets.  This year we postponed the baskets until later in the day and focused on what Easter is truly all about...Jesus' Resurrection.  After breakfast, we made Resurrection Rolls.
We took a marshmallow (which symbolized Jesus' body),
dipped the marshmallow in butter and sugar/cinnamon mixture (representing the oil and spices the body was anointed with upon burial)
and wrapped in a crescent roll (representing the tomb).
 Then we baked them.
We asked the kids to make a hypothesis on what would happen to the marshmallow, symbolizing Jesus in the tomb.  Beckett told us it would be gone because Jesus rose from the grave.
 He has risen indeed!
In the afternoon we brought out the Easter baskets.
Beckett was super excited about his new piano book
 and first video game!
Pierce got some new batting gloves since tball starts tomorrow!
Sterling found a bubble machine in his basket.
We filled the neighborhood with bubbles
 and chased them all around!
I think Sterling liked his gift.
Then we headed to Nana's for an Easter Egg Hunt.
Cousin Kane was ready to find some eggs.
Marshall got in on the egg hunt this time.

Then we had dinner with the family.
Afterwards the kids had a great time riding their scooters all around Nana's neighborhood.
Sterling wanted to keep up with the big kids!
