Here Grant and Beckett are waiting at the airport because our plane was delayed. Actually two out of the three flights were delayed for over 2 hours each! I think this trip was meant to teach us patience! I am not sure how well we did on that lesson. :) Beckett and I did not go to the race, but we did go to the track the day before the race to check out what all the excitement was about. Here are the five of us in front of the track.
Here the three generations of Lunde's are on the finish line. The bricks that they are standing on are the bricks that were used on the original track. The track is now covered with asphalt, except for this three feet wide section that is the finish line. The finish line runs all the way outside of the track.
Beckett strolling past the finish line. He was still a little tired here, from the traveling from the day before.
Here Beckett is getting into the racing spirit!
So was his dad!
Beckett finally woke up, so we could take some pictures of him at the track. I am not too sure he was ready to wake up!
Here the guys are in front of the 2010 Indy 500 pace car. Later that night Dan and Donna took us out to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. Here are the guys before dinner.
In the parking lot we saw the 1969 Indy 500 pace car. This was the year that Grant's grandpa attended the race. It was a neat moment we had to capture on film. Beckett slept through the 2 hour dinner and woke up just in time to see the fish and blue crab in the fish tank. He was very interested in watching them. The next day was race day! Beckett and I did not go to the race because it would have been too loud and hot! It was 95 degrees that day and even hotter down on the track. Beckett and I hung out at the hotel, but Beckett was still in the racing spirit. Look at his cute shirt!Playing with mom is so much more fun than racing!
Here is a video clip Grant took from the race.
