Grandpa's 60th Birthday

We headed to Medford this weekend, to celebrate Grandpa's 60th birthday.
While we were there, we went putt-putt golfing.
After golf, the boys were excited to drive the Go Karts.
On Sunday, we spent a little time soaking in the sun at the park.

Reading

Beckett got to pick up his new glasses today! He came straight home and tried them out. He calls them his Blazer glasses since they have red and silver on the sides.
Sterling was not too sure about them. He kept trying to pull them off Beckett.

Spring is Here

The boys were super excited to see their tulips blooming that they planted last fall.

Great Grandma Naomi's Birthday

Tonight we celebrated Great Grandma Naomi's 92nd birthday.
All the great grandkids were excited to be together.

Letter T, U, V

Wow!  I'm a little behind on the preschool blogging.  The last few weeks we worked on the letters T, U and V.
We made it to the number 20.  Now we are working on review of 1-20 and starting to work on some basic addition.
The verse of the week for the letter T...
The last three weeks we have been working on more written work.  Beckett still loves his workbook.  Probably because it is a kindergarten book and he thinks he is a big boy!
One of the highlights of the week is when the boys work on ABC Mouse on the laptop.
Our U devotion was U is for Unselfish.
 Verse of the Week...
 Handwriting Practice
On the table you might notice the BOB Books set.  I have been using the series with Beckett to learn to read.  He is doing awesome and is able to read several of the books now.
One day we made some playdough
 and then played.
Last week we worked on the letter V.
 V is for Visitors
We are almost to the end of the alphabet!

Money

The boys have been working hard the last couple of weeks, doing jobs for us and others, to earn money. The jobs have ranged from getting the neighbors newspapers while they are out of town to yard work.

When they get paid, they put 10% into their college fund, 10% tithing and the rest for their spending.
Right now Beckett is trying to earn money to buy an Octonaut toy and Pierce is saving for a motor boat (a real one, not a toy!).

New Glasses

Beckett has been complaining of his eyes hurting, after periods of reading/schoolwork. Today I took him to the eye doctor and they said he needed glasses for up close work. Look at the handsome guy in his new glasses!
Pierce really wanted to try some on too!
Not to worry! Pierce's eyes are just fine. He was super sad when we had to leave the glasses!

Blazer Game

Daddy got us tickets to tonight's Blazer game.
We all had a great time!

Sterling's Curious George Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated Curious Sterling's 1st Birthday,
with a Curious George themed party.
 The Birthday Boy
 The Boy and His Dog
The party was early in the morning, so we celebrated with breakfast
and lots of donuts!  Daddy made this awesome donut display.
Lots of family and friends helped us celebrate Sterling.
 Nana and Cousin Kane
Great Grandpa Frank and Grandma Naomi and 4 of their 11 great grandchildren.
When guests arrived, they were greeted by this sweet boy and asked to sign the guest book (which was the book "Curious George's Birthday Party")
 Sweet Messages
The big event was when Curious George and The Man with the Yellow Hat showed up.
The Man with the Yellow Hat read a story to the kids.
 Curious George loved the spotlight!
 Then it was cake time!
At first Sterling was not too sure,
but he sure liked to the singing to him.
 YUMMY
It was a fun, sweet party!
When guests left, they got a goodie box and Curious George book to take home.
Here are a few of the monkeys from the party...
