Fun in Portland

The Lundes just got back from a week and a half in Portland.  We had a great time staying with Nana and Uncle Eric.

While we were up there, we went to our first professional soccer game at Jeldwen Field.  We had a fun time with the Duvall family.
Beckett and I spent LOTS of time at different parks in Portland.  One of our favorites was out in Sherwood, where they had a water feature and sand.  Beckett looks like he has a black eye in the picture, but it is just a little sand.
More fun at the playground...
One morning Beckett and I went out to a blueberry farm to pick.  This time Beckett got the hang of it right away.  He picked berries for quite awhile, but somehow his bucket never filled up.
While we were at the farm, Beckett was fascinated with the planes that were flying over us.  He kept pointing and yelling, "Bird."
Nana put Beckett to work, helping her in the kitchen.  What a helper he is!
Beckett loved his Nana's bath tub.  I think he thought it was a swimming pool.  He spent a lot of time practicing his kicking and blowing bubbles.
We saw lots of family and friends.  Beckett was excited to spend some quality time with his baby cousin, Mason.
Of course he wanted to try out all of Nolan's toys.
Fun at the beach in Seaside.
More park time with Nana...
There were tons of ducks at the park, which were very tame.  Beckett walked right into the middle of a group of them and they barely moved.
What a great trip!

Time with Great Grandparents

While in Portland, Beckett had some time to visit with his GREAT grandparents.  Here he is working in the garden with Grandpa Frank...
Grandpa Frank showed him how to dig for potatoes.
 Beckett with his findings!
 Future Gardener
After all that working in the garden, we went inside to cool off.  Beckett loves his Grandma Naomi, who always has fun treats for him.
One day we went to Bob's Red Mill, where we met up with Great Grandma Thelma, Uncle Bob, and Aunt Dolores.  Here is Beckett showing off his coloring skills...

Hood to Coast 2011

Yesterday Grant competed in the 2011 Hood to Coast Relay Race.  The race started at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood and ended 200 miles later in Seaside.  Here is his team at Mt. Hood...
The team was split into two vans and Grant was in van #1 (pictured below).
Here are the runners in van #1 (Kyle, Darren, Iris, Sam, Mary, and Grant).
Grant had a great time, competing with 3 of his fraternity brothers from college.
 And they are off...
Mary ran leg #4 and handed off to Grant, who ran leg #5.  These guys were champs to be running in the hot temperatures!
Grant ran a total of almost twenty miles, between his three legs.  His legs were ranked the most difficult both mileage and overall difficulty.
After van #1's first legs of the race, they stopped by the Phipps' house for dinner.  Cassera and I made a yummy dinner, to help recharge them for the next 2 legs of the race.
The team ran in the middle of the night and then ended up sleeping in a field, somewhere along the route.
On Saturday afternoon, the the team made it to Seaside for the big finish!  As a team of tweleve runners, they ran 200 miles in 29 hours and 15 minutes.
Beckett and I were there to watch Dad cross the finish line.

Portland Zoo

This morning Beckett and I headed to the Portland Zoo, where we met Auntie Tera and Mason.
Beckett was fascinated with all the animals.
There were even a few animals that he could pet.
 Beckett and his little pal
We had a yummy picnic lunch, while we were there.

 Having fun with the elephants
We had two exhausted boys at the end of the day! :)

Wine Tasting Limo Excursion

On Saturday afternoon the Lundes, Phipps, and Olsons all went on a wine tasting excursion.
We enjoyed the limo ride and had great company with fabulous friends!
 All the wineries were beautiful!
We had four stops and most everyone enjoyed the wine,
 while one of us watched!!
My belly is definitely showing these days!!
Our favorite spot was Argle.
