Week of Potty Training

On Monday, Daddy and Mommy made the big decision to full-on start potty training Pierce.  We had encouraged him to use the potty during the past few months, but had not put much time or effort in training him.  So this week we focused all our attention on using the potty.

Here he is in his "big boy" undies....
Lots of hours have been spent in the bathroom, reading books.
Big Brother Beckett has been awesome the whole week.  Since we have not left the house much, the boys have hung out and played together.
Last night at Grandma's house Pierce went in the potty and got a movie and popcorn.  Movies seem to be the most effective motivator.
So after 4 days of potty training, Pierce has made significant progress but we still have a ways to go.  We are hoping to get him out of diapers before Sterling's arrival!

36 1/2 Week Ultrasound

Today we had my 36 1/2 week ultrasound.  Doctor says the baby looks great.  Little Sterling is already measuring 7 pounds, 3 ounces.  So she is projecting him to be over 9 pounds at delivery.
The pictures were not great from the ultrasound because he had his hand in front of his face the whole time.  But here is a 3D picture of Sterling's face and hand.  Can't wait to meet him in person!

Happy Birthday, Beckett!

Yesterday we celebrated Beckett's 4th birthday.  The day started off with balloons, a birthday hat and his favorite breakfast...oatmeal.
Then in the evening we had Grandpa, Grandma and Auntie over for dinner.  Dinner was Beckett's choice and he chose mac n' cheese and fruit.
 The Lundes
All day long Beckett was dying to open his gifts, so when it came time he was all smiles.
 So Many Fun Gifts
Of course Pierce was right there to assist in the opening of presents.
 Auntie and Piercey-Pie
Beckett got more gear for t-ball.  I think he is all set to play.
For dessert Beckett requested ice cream sandwiches.
Who needs presents when the boxes are so much fun?!?

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today Daddy turned 34!  The boys and I surprised him by getting an Ipod car attachment installed while he was at work.  Then we filled the car with balloons and a beautiful piece of artwork.
Then this evening we had Grandpa and Grandma over for dinner.  Daddy got to choose what he wanted for dinner...grilled teriyaki chicken and shrimp over rice.  YUMMY!
Of course there were a few gifts to open
and the boys were right there to help him.
 POWER TOOLS
 So Much Fun
Beckett picked out a special ice cream cake for Daddy.

Granpa Frank Turns 90

On Sunday we celebrated Grandpa Frank's 90th Birthday.
His kids through him a beautiful party to celebrate the big day.
 There were a few toasts.
Then Grandpa Frank got up and gave a speech.
 Grandpa Frank and Grandma Naomi
 The Larsen Family
Grandpa Frank and 7 of his 8 great grand kids, with 2 more arriving shortly.
The kids did great at the party.  They played lots of games, like Duck-Duck-Goose.
And even got to watch a movie!
 Happy Birthday, Grandpa Frank!

Portland Aquarium

Another fun adventure we had in Portland was going to the Portland Aquarium.
There were so many exhibits that let you touch the animals.  Here is a picture of Daddy petting a shark...
Daddy and Pierce went into a bird area when there were birds EVERYWHERE.
I stayed on the other side of the netting, so the pictures are not great.  While the boys were in there a bird landed on Daddy's head.  Pierce was not amused.
He was especially not amused when another bird landed on HIS head.
Pierce liked the animals in the cages better.
At the beginning neither of the boys would touch anything.  Towards the end, they started to explore some of the tide pools.
 Starfish
There was some type of ray that was circling the tide pool.
Beckett really wanted to touch it,
 but then would get nervous.
I think he finally touched it at the end.

Angry Birds Birthday Party

Beckett was able to celebrate his birthday a little early, while we were in Portland.  He wanted an Angry Birthday party.
We had the party at the Play Boutique in Lake Oswego and they did an awesome job.
At the start of the party, the kids got to play.
 Piercey Pie
Our sweet friends, The Olson Fam, even made it up to Portland for the party.  This made Beckett's day!
 Little Nolan
 Miss Annabelle
After playing the kids got a snack.
 The Birthday Boy
Then they sang Happy Birthday to Beckett.
 Make a Wish
Then all the kids got to decorate their own cupcake.
 Putting the finishing touches on
YUMMY
 The kids enjoying the cupcakes.
We sent home all the kids with personalized Angry Bird cups, with Angry Bird goodies inside.
 What a fun time!
Afterwards we went back to Nana's house and opened presents.
Beckett was super excited to get college fund money.
And the toys were pretty special too.
