December 21st

This morning Pierce opened the 21st Christmas book
and this afternoon Beckett participated in our 21st Advent activity...helping at the Soup Kitchen.
Beckett worked with another girl clearing dishes
and getting drinks.  His favorite part was getting the coffee because of the fun dispenser.
After we finished we got in the car and Beckett said, "Momma, I served the people."  YES, he did! :)

December 20th--Updated!

Hosting a Cookie Decorating Party was our advent activity of the day.
We baked some cookies, put out the decorations and aprons
and invited a few of our little friends to come over for the fun!

The kids got right to work.
They were very serious about the activity.
It was a fun morning with friends.
Beckett
  was focused on decorating
 and Pierce
was focused on eating.  I don't even want to know how many cookies he ate!!!

December 19th

Today our advent activity was to donate food to the local food bank.  We stopped by the store and picked up a couple of bags of groceries.  Then we took them to the food bank.  It was really neat to watch Beckett as he gave the groceries to the volunteers and look around as I explained what the place was.  The food bank was full of people picking up groceries.  What a good reminder that we should be giving all year long, not just this month!

I forgot my camera at home, so I was not able to get a picture of our activity.  So here is a fun picture of the boys today in front of the tree.  How big are they getting?!?

December 18th

Today our advent activity was performing random (and not so random) acts of kindness.  This activity required some planning, so yesterday the boys got to work.
At 6:30am we started.  Act #1 Thank you to the garbage collector.  We left him a box of treats.  He must have liked the sign because he took that too!  Or maybe he thought it was garbage??? :)
Act #2 Last week when Daddy was on a business trip in Medford, he stopped by GG's house and hid a present.  Today we Skyped with her and told her where to find her surprise.
Act #3 Took a gift certificate for a nights worth of babysitting to some friends who could use a night out.
Act #4 Brought some of our favorite Ray's Food Place employees flowers.
 This was fun!
 Act #5 Returned shopping carts
Act #6 Took coffee to Daddy and Grandma at work.
Act #7 Made treats and took them to the secretary at Daddy's work.
Act #8 Brought our special friend who was having a rough day a little gift to brighten her day.
Act #9 Handed out flowers to some lovely women in the nursing home.
Act #10 Donate some clothes to the Mission.
Act #11 Donated dog food to the Humane Society.
While we were there, we got to visit some of the animals.
 Pierce loved the kitties.
Act #12 Took a meal and gift to a new mommy and her precious baby!
Act #13 Delivered gifts to some of our little friends.
Here is a close up of one of the gifts.
At the end of the day, we went out for ice cream to celebrate our fun day!
But guess what?!?  We found one more act of kindness.  There was man at the ice cream shop that we found that really needed a warm dinner.
So Act #14 Bought someone dinner.
What a great day!  There were many wonderful moments throughout the day and this was by far the best advent activity of the year.

December 17th

The activity of the day was to open a new board game and have Family Game Night.
The board game was Candy Land.
Little Pierce was a little tired, so he went to bed and didn't play.
 Beckett, Daddy,
and Mommy spent the evening playing Candy Land.
It was very interesting to play a board game with a toddler, who kept trying to make up his own rules. :)

Jesus' Birthday Party

Tonight Daddy and Beckett went to the Nazerene Church where they were having a birthday party for Jesus.
The kids listened to the pastor tell a story, they sang songs, made crafts,
and even had a birthday cupcake!
